Math:

The Montessori math materials give children tangible objects that they can manipulate to increase their understanding of mathematical concepts. Once these concepts are fully grasped the need for these tangible objects diminishes thus the Montessori math curriculum moves from concrete to abstract. The Montessori math curriculum begins with numeral recognition and sequential counting and works toward operations with numbers and the memorization of facts.
